WinnMed is seeking to hire a Surgical Coordinator to join our growing Surgical Services Department. The Surgical Coordinator is a Registered Nurse responsible for coordinating pre-op testing, scheduling, and education of surgical patients of all ages. This position is responsible for:
Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures in collaboration with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and operating room staff
Facilitate pre-operative testing, consultations, and clearances as required by surgical protocols
Provide thorough pre-operative education to patients and families, including instructions on fasting, medication management, and post-op expectations
Review patient charts to ensure completeness and readiness for surgery
Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care
Serve as a resource for patients with questions or concerns regarding their surgical experience
Maintain compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and infection control practices
Requirements:
Current IA Registered Nurse license
At least 2 years RN experience, preferably in perioperative or surgical services
Solid working knowledge of Epic and Care Everywhere preferred
American Heart Association BLS required
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
