Job description
Construction Job Cost Accountant Responsibilities:
• Cost Allocation: Assigning costs to various jobs or projects, ensuring that all direct and indirect expenses are correctly recorded.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Assisting in the preparation of budgets and forecast for upcoming projects, ensuring that projects remain within financial limits.
• Data Analysis: Analyzing financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for cost control, and providing insights to management for decision-making.
• Job Costing Reports: Preparing detailed reports on job costs, including comparison of actual versus estimated costs, to help project managers monitor and control expenses.
• Invoice Verification: Ensuring that invoices for materials, labor, and subcontractors are accurate and properly allocated to the right jobs or projects.
• Collaboration: Working closely with project managers, procurement, and finance teams to ensure that project costs are tracked in real time and that financial data is accurate.
• Compliance: Ensuring all job cost accounting activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulations.
Construction Job Cost Accountant Requirements:
• Bachelors degree in accounting or related field (essential).
• 2 years of Cost Accounting work experience (essential).
• Sound understanding of accounting principles.
• Solid cost systems background.
• Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail with superb organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
