What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mental Health Technician (Men's Program) position at Wings Recovery?
The Client Care Technician is responsible for providing direct service to clients, and for facilitating the smooth day-to-day operation of the program. The Client Care Technician collaborates as a member of the multidisciplinary team (Treatment Team) to deliver effective treatment. Our Client Care Technicians work directly with the clients through interaction, daily routines, checking vitals, and distributing their daily meds.
Shifts Available:
- Full Time Tues-Saturday Evening 4 PM-12:30 AM
- Part Time Sat/Sun Evening 4 PM-12:30 AM
- Part Time Sat/Sun Daytime 8 AM-4:30 PM
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain appropriate boundaries with clients
- Support clients in accessing community resources
- Provide effective crisis intervention
- Teach independent living skills, such as cooking & cleaning effectively
- Demonstrate active listening skills
- Prioritize daily tasks
- Utilize individualized approach to client services
Qualifications
- Attainment of at least 18 years of age.
- Education: High School graduate or possess a GED. Coursework in counseling, psychology, or social work preferred.
- Experience: One year full-time experience working directly with clients in a program serving people with mental illness. An approved Plan of Supervision may be substituted for one year full-time experience.
- Experience in any type of recovery environment is a plus.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of and belief in the principles of client centered treatment. Knowledge of medications and interventions preferred.
- Special Skills: Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team player. Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
- Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license, clean driving record and personal automobile insurance. Hiring is contingent upon receiving DOJ/FBI fingerprint clearance or an exemption, a submission of a signed Criminal Record Statement (LIC 508), a TB test, and clearance on an employment physical. Current First Aid and CPR certification is preferred prior to employment.
