Job Description
The Fitness Center and Wellbeing Manager is responsible for the strategic development, implementation, and daily management of employee wellness initiatives and onsite fitness center operations at all locations. This role designs and delivers engaging, evidence-based wellbeing programs-including fitness challenges, events, and incentive campaigns-to promote a culture of health, inclusivity, and employee engagement across the organization. The role manages onsite fitness center operations in Minnesota, including supervision of wellbeing coordinators, programming, coordination of group fitness classes, and oversight of personal training and nutritional counseling services. This position partners cross-functionally with internal teams, vendors, and community organizations to align wellbeing strategies with organizational goals.

PAY RANGE: $92,000-$107,000 (S16), plus 15% annual target bonus.

Essential Functions
- Fitness Center Leadership:
- Lead daily operations of all onsite fitness centers, ensuring high-quality service delivery and efficient facility management.
- Supervise, coach, and support Wellbeing Coordinators across locations to drive consistency, accountability, and program excellence.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees and leadership on wellbeing programs, services, and benefits.
- Foster a culture of health, inclusivity, and engagement through visible leadership and strong relationship management.
- Build and maintain partnerships with internal teams, vendors, and community organizations to support wellbeing strategy and service delivery.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying operational and program enhancements and implementing best practices.
- Lead communication and reporting efforts, including regular updates to leadership and employees on program outcomes and engagement.
- Fitness Center Wellbeing Program Administration:
- Design, implement, and evaluate comprehensive, evidence-based wellbeing programs (e. g. , fitness challenges, events, and incentive initiatives).
- Align wellbeing programming with organizational goals through cross-functional collaboration with Learning, Culture, and Engagement teams.
- Oversee personal training and nutritional counseling services, ensuring consistency and quality across fitness center offerings.
- Coordinate and manage group fitness programming and class schedules in partnership with fitness center staff.
- Utilize data, performance metrics, and health behavior theory to assess effectiveness and inform program strategy.
- Manage wellbeing technology platforms and intranet content to support accessibility, communication, and engagement. E
- Ensure proper maintenance, safety, and functionality of fitness center equipment and facilities.
- Ad hoc Projects:
- Assist leadership with survey creation and analysis.
- Fill smoothie orders as requested on-site.
- Help implement and manage other programming and rewards as the credit union offerings expand and change.
- Staff Alignment / Team Development: Recruit and hire staff, evaluate performance, train, support, and contribute to the development of reporting employees.
- Bank Secrecy Act: Remains cognizant of and adheres to Wings policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act.
Minimum Formal Qualifications for this Position
- Bachelor's Degree in Sports and Fitness Administration, Health and Education Promotion, Parks, Recreation, and Leisure Studies, Sports Communication, Health and Wellness, or a similar relevant field.
- 6 years' combined experience implementing health and wellness solutions for employers to include:
- 3 years' specialized experience with fitness center management, with experience in group x class offerings and physical fitness equipment
- 1 years' supervisory or team leadership experience preferred
- Oral and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication styles to match different audiences in the organization.
- Ability to give presentations to all levels of the organization.
- Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to advise, counsel, and make recommendations to management concerning medical, health, and administrative aspects of the health and wellness promotion program.
- Ability to organize, direct, and evaluate a comprehensive health promotion programs for a variety of wellness topics.
- Ability to independently prioritize workload to ensure deadlines and schedules are met.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles & practices.
- Ability to use one or more computer/web-based payroll processing software packages.
- Knowledge of legal requirements and guidelines relevant to benefit and wellness administration.
- Exposure to custom reporting software packages such as IBM Cognos, preferred.
- One or more health and fitness certifications: Certified personal training, nutritional counseling, CPR certification. Group X certified (various specialties) or other certification approved by the Director of Workforce Well-being. Required upon hire.
