Bus Driver

$500 SIGN ON BONUS after 90 Days if all requirements are fulfilled.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate school buses and paratransit vehicles according to traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies
• Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in optimal condition, including checking mechanical systems and safety equipment
• Maintain a friendly, professional demeanor while communicating clearly with students, parents, school staff, and colleagues
• Manage behavior effectively to promote a safe and respectful environment on the bus
• Follow designated routes and schedules precisely, adjusting as needed for traffic or weather conditions
• Assist students with boarding and disembarking, including those with special needs or requiring childcare support
• Complete accurate logs of trips, incidents, and vehicle maintenance reports

Qualifications

• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with passenger endorsement; experience in bus driving preferred
• Proven ability to operate vehicles safely in various conditions; experience with school bus driving or paratransit services is highly desirable
• Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for engaging diverse communities
• Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle inspections and troubleshoot minor issues
• Experience working with children or in childcare environments; understanding of behavior management techniques
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable attitude
• Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively; familiarity with safety protocols for senior care or special needs transportation is advantageous
