$500 SIGN ON BONUS after 90 Days if all requirements are fulfilled.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses and paratransit vehicles according to traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in optimal condition, including checking mechanical systems and safety equipment
- Maintain a friendly, professional demeanor while communicating clearly with students, parents, school staff, and colleagues
- Manage behavior effectively to promote a safe and respectful environment on the bus
- Follow designated routes and schedules precisely, adjusting as needed for traffic or weather conditions
- Assist students with boarding and disembarking, including those with special needs or requiring childcare support
- Complete accurate logs of trips, incidents, and vehicle maintenance reports
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with passenger endorsement; experience in bus driving preferred
- Proven ability to operate vehicles safely in various conditions; experience with school bus driving or paratransit services is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for engaging diverse communities
- Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle inspections and troubleshoot minor issues
- Experience working with children or in childcare environments; understanding of behavior management techniques
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable attitude
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively; familiarity with safety protocols for senior care or special needs transportation is advantageous
