To assist the Head Football Coach in developing and maintaining a competitive football program that promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, character, and student-athlete growth both on and off the field.
Qualifications
- Valid Iowa coaching authorization or coaching endorsement required.
- Knowledge of football fundamentals, rules, strategies, and player development.
- Ability to work effectively with students, staff, parents, and community members.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Football Coach with planning, organizing, and conducting practices and competitions.
- Teach fundamental football skills, techniques, and strategies appropriate to student-athlete development.
- Promote good sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, and respect among student-athletes.
- Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, travel, and related activities.
- Assist with equipment management, inventory, and maintenance.
- Help monitor student-athlete academic progress and eligibility requirements.
- Ensure compliance with district policies, athletic department expectations, and state athletic association regulations.
- Support efforts to maintain a safe and positive environment for all participants.
- Assist with game preparation, scouting reports, film breakdown, and other coaching responsibilities as assigned.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, coaching staff, administration, and community members.
- Attend coaches’ meetings, professional development opportunities, and required district trainings.
- Model professionalism and positive conduct at all times.
