About the Role
Windy City Events Management is looking for a Social Media & Community Coordinator to support and elevate our presence across TikTok, FB and Instagram. This role is perfect for someone who lives and breathes social content, understands digital culture, and has a passion for building community online. You will help shape the voice of our brands by managing engagement, responding to messages and comments, interacting with other accounts, and supporting our ongoing content initiatives. This is an entry-level role with opportunities to grow in digital strategy, content creation, and brand marketing.
Responsibilities
Platform & Community Management
- Respond to DMs, comments, mentions, and tags across TikTok, FB and Instagram.
- Maintain consistent brand voice and tonality across all interactions.
- Engage with followers, partner accounts, and relevant creators to increase brand visibility.
- Monitor audience sentiment and escalate sensitive issues to leadership.
Content & Engagement
- Support the posting and scheduling of content across platforms.
- Assist in identifying trends, audio, cultural moments, and engagement opportunities.
- Participate in brainstorming for content ideas, event coverage, and brand storytelling.
- Maintain digital organization of assets, UGC, and engagement logs.
Growth & Brand Voice
- Uphold brand identity and tone for each WCEM brand and event vertical.
- Apply industry-standard strategies to drive engagement (hashtags, replies, trend alignment, etc.).
- Track basic analytics (views, saves, shares, comments, follower growth) and report key insights.
- Provide recommendations for improving engagement and community interaction.
Event Support (As Needed)
- Capture short-form content during festivals, 5Ks, and activations.
- Participate in online event-related engagement before, during, and after events.
Qualifications
- Entry-level experience in social media, content creation, or community management.
- Strong understanding of TikTok and Instagram culture, humor, trends, and etiquette.
- Excellent writing skills and the ability to adapt to brand voice.
- Comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
- Bonus: experience with Canva, CapCut, or basic editing tools.
