Job Overview

Avocado Theory is seeking a part-time Social Media and Marketing Coordinator to grow our brand both online and in the community. This role combines social media management, content creation, event planning, and community outreach to drive brand awareness and engagement. The ideal candidate is creative, organized, flexible, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively with our team.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate with our social media agency to plan, create, and produce engaging content.
• Edit photos, videos, and marketing content from home as needed.
• Plan, promote, and support events, representing Avocado Theory at community and school functions.
• Manage digital marketing campaigns, including social media advertisements and email promotions, while tracking performance metrics.
• I’d add this under Requirements to emphasize that the candidate needs to be self-motivated while working remotely.
• Ability to work independently and stay organized while working from home, manage deadlines, and complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision while maintaining communication with the Avocado Theory team.
• Maintain an active online presence by monitoring comments, reviews, and messages.
• Update and maintain imagery across Avocado Theory's websites and other digital platforms to ensure content is current, engaging, and consistent with our brand.
• Participate in weekly planning meetings with the Avocado Theory team to coordinate content, promotions, upcoming events, and marketing initiatives.
• Travel between Avocado Theory locations as needed to capture content, support marketing initiatives, and ensure consistent branding across stores. (Work-related trips exceeding 60 miles will qualify for mileage reimbursement.)
• Collaborate with the team on creative ideas, promotions, and community engagement initiatives.

Requirements

• Strong in-person communication skills and a willingness to engage with the community.
• Strong creative skills and an eye for visual storytelling.
• Familiarity with social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, and emerging channels.
• Excellent written communication skills with a keen eye for detail and proofreading.
• Knowledge of branding principles and experience maintaining a consistent brand image.
• Ability to work collaboratively while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
• Strong relationship management skills and the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences.
• Flexibility in scheduling, including availability on some weekends for events, content creation, and community outreach.
• Reliable transportation and the ability to travel between Avocado Theory locations as needed.
• Photography, graphic design, and video editing experience are preferred but not required. A willingness to learn and develop these skills is essential.

Work Environment and Schedule

This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule that includes a combination of in-person work at Avocado Theory locations and events, weekly team planning, and remote content editing and other marketing tasks from home. Candidates should be comfortable balancing independent work with in-person collaboration and occasional weekend commitments.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 6.0 – 10.0 per week
