Job Title: Maintenance Operator
Reports to: Golf Course Superintendent
Compensation: Hourly
Job Summary:
- Mows fairways and roughs with gang units.
- Operates all walk behind equipment and is familiar with all maintenance processes in which they are used.
- Operates all types of equipment; turf vac, tractors, skip-loader, aerifiers, sprayers.
- May operate smaller equipment as directed by his/her supervisor.
- Assists in completing fertilizer applications.
- Ensures that the equipment cooling system is working at all times; refills fuel and oil daily; cleans equipment daily; and reports equipment problems or failures to Equipment Manager immediately.
- Provides basic preventive maintenance on equipment as directed by equipment manager or assistant superintendent, and returns equipment to the designated location at the maintenance facility.
Performs other duties as directed by his/her supervisor
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Requires knowledge and proficiency in the use of all golf course maintenance equipment.
- Must be able to operate golf course maintenance equipment.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs.
- Must be able to work in the heat for extended periods.
- Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing.
- Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to interact professionally and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, coworkers and members.
- Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment.
