Hiring Range: $17.79 - $19.35 hourly

Ready to turn your passion for aquatics into a career? The Town of Windsor is looking for a full-time Head Lifeguard to join our Aquatics Division. This role offers 40 hours a week, year-round stability, and a great benefits package.

As a Head Lifeguard, you’ll be a leader on deck helping train and supervise staff, ensuring safety for all pool users, and keeping our facilities running smoothly. You’ll split your time between hands-on lifeguarding, mentoring staff, and making sure our pools stay clean, safe, and fun for the community.

Work Schedule: Shifts vary, must be able to work a variety of shifts including early mornings, weekends, midday, and evening shifts. Outdoor pool is typically open between Memorial Day and Labor Day


Essential Job Functions

  • Supervise lifeguards and swim instructors
  • Train and mentor staff to keep skills and certifications current
  • Ensure safety in and around the pool, including rescues and first aid
  • Assist with scheduling, maintenance, and pool operations
  • Provide excellent customer service to pool guests

Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • At least 18 years old
  • Current Lifeguard, First Aid & CPR certifications (American Red Cross)
  • Leadership skills and the ability to stay calm in emergencies
  • Previous Head Lifeguard experience is a plus, but not required

The physical requirements of this position are considered Medium Work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.

The employee is subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions; may be subject to extreme heat: temperatures to above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour. subject to noise. The employee may be subject to hazards: Including a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat, or exposure to chemicals.
The employee may be subject to atmospheric conditions: one or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gasses, or poor ventilation.
