Role Description The Construction Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based in Charleston, SC, responsible for overseeing daily field operations on assigned construction projects. This role coordinates and supervises site activities, including subcontractor management, work scheduling, and adherence to project plans and specifications. The Construction Supervisor monitors safety practices, conducts regular site inspections, and ensures compliance with local codes and company standards. The position also manages on-site communication among project stakeholders, tracks progress against timelines, and supports issue resolution to keep projects on schedule and within quality expectations. The supervisor maintains jobsite documentation, contributes to progress reporting, and partners closely with project management and trade partners to deliver successful projects.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated Supervisory Skills and experience in Site Supervision on commercial or residential construction projects.
- Strong Communication skills for coordinating with project managers, subcontractors, clients, and inspectors.
- Hands-on Inspection experience to verify work quality, compliance with drawings and specifications, and adherence to building codes.
- Knowledge of Construction Safety standards, with a proven record of promoting and enforcing safe work practices on-site.
- Experience interpreting construction documents, including plans, specifications, and submittals.
- Proficiency in basic construction management software and digital tools for scheduling, reporting, and documentation.
- Ability to organize multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and solve problems in a dynamic field environment.
- Relevant education or training in construction management, engineering, or a related field; equivalent field experience considered.
- Understanding of New England or regional construction practices is beneficial, as is prior experience with client-facing responsibilities.
