Duties
The Senior Human Resources Generalist will provide senior level support to the Corporate HR team/property level management including but not limited to recruitment, pre-employment screening, benefit and retirement plan administration, worker’s compensation claim management, file management, New Hire Orientation, FMLA/CFRA leave administration according to company procedures and legal requirements. Additional responsibilities include payroll support, coordination of staff recognition, career fairs and training initiatives.
- Serve as a key point of contact for employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, and programs.
- Provide guidance and support on conflict resolution, conduct investigations and recommend appropriate corrective action.
- Collaborate with leadership to address performance management issues, including coaching conversations, disciplinary action administration, and performance improvement plans.
- Support full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, scheduling interviews, pre-employment screenings, and onboarding.
- Ensure timely and consistent onboarding experiences across all departments.
- Administer and maintain benefit and retirement plans, ensuring timely enrollment and communication in alignment with plan documents and eligibility requirements.
- Assist in the development, communication, and interpretation of HR policies and procedures.
- Supervise, train and delegate tasks to HR Generalists.
- Ensure legal compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain HRIS records in Workday, enter and update data accurately, compile and create custom reports from the platform as needed.
- Maintain a high-level of confidentiality and data integrity.
- Provide payroll processing support.
- Reinforce meal and rest break compliance as well as time sheet integrity by conducting regular reviews and identifying trends.
- Oversee Worker’s Compensation claim management while promoting a strong culture of workplace safety to reduce claims.
- Participate in HR audits and contribute to continuous process improvements that reinforce compliance.
- Support in planning employee engagement initiatives and promote a positive organizational culture.
- Assist with the planning and execution of training programs and development activities.
- Administer FMLA/CFRA leaves according to company procedures and legal requirements.
- Serves as the employee engagement champion by supporting the planning and execution of all staff functions such as special events, health fairs, career fairs, etc.
- Lead workplace investigations through resolution under the supervision of the Corporate Director of Human Resources.
- Respond to Employment Development Department correspondence such as unemployment, paid family leave, and disability claims.
- Comply with EEOC EEO-1 and CA Civil Rights Department annual reporting requirements.
- Performs other job duties as needed or directed.
Experience
- Proven experience in HR department functions with a strong background in human resources management.
- Demonstrated expertise in employment & labor law compliance, OSHA regulations, and HR compliance.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple initiatives simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging diverse audiences and fostering collaborative relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Experience with data collection and analysis for HR metrics to inform strategic planning and decision-making.
- Regular travel between the corporate office and various hotel properties will be required. Candidates must have reliable transportation and possess a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to walk, stand and sit as required throughout the day.
- Ability to type 40 WPM.
- Must arrive to work well groomed, with pristine hygiene, and professional attire.
- Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
- Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
- Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
- Must be effective in handling complex problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
- Must be able to listen, understand, and transcribe issues raised by co-workers and guests.
- Must be able to work and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions.
- Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma/4-year degree preferred.
- Hospitality experience preferred.
- 4 years’ experience as an HR Generalist preferred
- Experience in Workday preferred
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred

Pay: $34.00 - $36.00 per hour
