Position Summary
As our Drafter, you will be responsible for using Solidworks to create and maintain 3D models and 2D detail drawings. Provide drafting support to engineering and other departments as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Drafting Excellence: Strong proficiency in drafting standards per ASME Y14.5 and working knowledge of GD&T
- Ability to use Microstation or Solidworks drawing software
- Solid understanding of drafting techniques and familiarity with Engineering terminology
- 2 years drafting experience in a manufacturing experience (or equivalent education)
- Experience using Microsoft Office products (preferred but not required)

- Create working detail drawings and models from rough or detailed sketches or notes for engineering or manufacturing purposes
- Perform maintenance of existing product lines, including, but not limited to, processing drawing changes and ECN’s.
- Create 3D models and 2D drawings from existing models, sketches, and marked up drawings.
- Input and maintain ERP system data (Bills of Materials, Part numbers, etc.)
- Verify that all drawings and 3D models maintain high technical integrity, conform to current industry and company standards, and provide unambiguous clarity for downstream stakeholders.
- Coordinate concurrent drafting priorities to ensure all technical deliverables align with critical path milestones and project deadlines
- Provide drafting support to manufacturing, quality, supply chain and sales as required.
- Collaborate with supply chain partners to provide technical clarification on complex drawing requirements and ensure vendor alignment with design intent.
- Provide accurate 3D models to the supply chain, ensuring seamless integration into vendor manufacturing workflows and reducing lead times.
- Contribute technical insights during the design phase to identify potential drafting or design conflicts and suggest refinements and improvements that improve product and process integrity.
- Contribute technical expertise to DFMEA and PFMEA sessions, identifying potential failure modes related to design geometry and manufacturing constraints for both NPI and legacy product lines
- Identify systemic bottlenecks in the engineering lifecycle and spearhead process optimizations that enhance CAD department throughput and documentation accuracy
