Position OverviewOur enterprise client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Infrastructure & Systems Engineer with deep expertise across server administration, enterprise storage, networking, and backup technologies. This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in complex environments, enjoys hands-on ownership, and excels at ensuring stability, performance, and operational excellence across critical IT systems.
You will support large-scale infrastructure environments, optimize storage platforms, strengthen backup and disaster recovery capabilities, and maintain high availability for mission-critical applications. Candidates must have strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to operate both independently and collaboratively within a high-performance engineering team.
Key ResponsibilitiesCompute & Server Administration- Install, configure, monitor, and maintain physical and virtual servers (Windows/Linux).
- Apply security patches, firmware updates, and system upgrades regularly.
- Automate server deployment, configuration, and health monitoring using scripting tools.
- Administer, allocate, and optimize SAN, NAS, and direct-attached enterprise storage systems.
- Monitor storage usage, performance, and capacity to ensure high availability.
- Manage and implement storage replication, snapshots, and disaster recovery readiness.
- Develop and execute backup strategies using platforms such as Veeam, Commvault, or Veritas.
- Perform routine backup integrity checks and support data restoration requests.
- Maintain and document disaster recovery procedures; test regularly for readiness.
- Configure and troubleshoot LAN/WAN connectivity and related hardware (routers, switches, firewalls).
- Monitor network performance, capacity, and proactively resolve incidents.
- Provision and document new network circuits and maintain updated network topology records.
- Hands-on experience managing Windows and/or Linux server environments.
- Proficiency with enterprise storage platforms (NetApp, Dell EMC, HPE, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of backup technologies (Veeam, Commvault, Veritas).
- Solid understanding of networking principles: TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, routing, and switching.
- Experience with network circuit provisioning, capacity management, and monitoring tools.
- Scripting and automation expertise (PowerShell, Bash, or Python).
- Strong analytical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting ability in complex environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred certifications:
- Microsoft (MCSA)
- CompTIA Server
- Cisco CCNA
- VMware
- Or similar technical credentials.
