Infrastructure Project Manager (Contract)

Location: Remote

Duration: 3–6 months initial engagement (strong potential for extension)

Our client is a large, highly complex healthcare system serving millions of patients across hospitals, clinics, and research facilities. With a strong focus on patient care, system reliability, and enterprise scalability, the organization continues to invest in critical IT infrastructure initiatives that support core clinical and operational environments.

Role Overview

The Infrastructure Project Manager will lead high-impact IT infrastructure initiatives focused on strengthening and modernizing the organization’s core technology environment. This role will be heavily centered on infrastructure (not a generalist PM), with an emphasis on networking, security-aligned infrastructure, and enterprise systems.

The Project Manager will be responsible for driving projects from initiation through execution, ensuring delivery within scope, timeline, and budget. This individual will partner closely with infrastructure, networking, and cybersecurity teams while translating complex technical efforts into clear updates for leadership and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage enterprise IT infrastructure projects from planning through execution
  • Drive delivery of initiatives involving networking, firewalls, and infrastructure-related security components
  • Coordinate across infrastructure, cybersecurity, and application teams to ensure alignment
  • Communicate project scope, risks, dependencies, and progress to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Manage timelines, resources, and deliverables across multiple concurrent workstreams
  • Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring minimal disruption to clinical and operational systems
  • Ensure infrastructure changes align with organizational priorities, system performance requirements, and governance standards

Required Experience & Skills

  • 10 years of experience leading large-scale IT projects
  • Strong project management, organization, and communication skills
  • Extensive experience managing infrastructure-focused initiatives (networking, firewalls, enterprise systems)
  • Working knowledge of cybersecurity concepts and collaboration with security teams
  • Proven ability to lead complex initiatives in enterprise IT environments
  • Experience engaging and influencing stakeholders across technical and non-technical groups

Nice to Have

  • Experience within healthcare or other highly regulated environments
  • Understanding of how infrastructure changes impact clinical operations and patient care
  • Experience working in large, multi-system enterprise organizations
