Position Summary
The Investment Associate will work directly with the CIO and Vice Presidents of the investment department and will be focused on responding to quantitative asset related inquiries from other business groups.. It is expected that the Investment Associate will have consistent interaction with finance, audit, new business, and actuarial departments. In addition, the Investment Associate will interface with Wilton Re’s external investment managers, investment consulting firm, accounting services provider, and internal and external auditors.
The Investment Associate will assist the VPs of Investments and CIO primarily in collecting, streamlining, examining and presenting data related to Wilton Re’s holdings across all asset classes.. The role will be the primary curator of financial data quality, and will be responsible for organizing and aggregating data sourced from investment accounting providers, asset managers, and external consultants. The data outputs of this individual will be used to to compile internal and external reporting and to inform investment decisions. The Investment Associate will assist with the investment portfolio’s location in the US and Bermuda.
Role Responsibilities
Assist CIO and VPs of Investments in gathering, refining and organizing data necessary for the group to fulfil reporting needs, strategic needs, and responding to data requests from other business groups. The data provided by this role will be used in all the responsibilities of the investment department including aligning overall investment strategy with asset allocation driven portfolio construction, ALM, and Wilton Re’s risk appetite, and capital objectives. Work closely with investment consultant and asset managers on data harmonization and ongoing quality management
Assist in development of robust portfolio compliance monitoring including coding Investment Guidelines, tracking general account and trust conformance and maintaining compliance history
Assist in developing more efficient process of monitoring investment portfolio risk and reporting on the Investment portfolio’s performance
Assist in preparation of presentations to the board of directors, rating agencies, and regulators
Support early stages of new business asset restructures
Develop a strong understanding of the characteristics of the investment portfolio
Assist other members of investment department with new portfolio and/or asset manager onboarding
Spearhead development of analytical and monitoring tools to assist in these efforts
Basic Qualifications
Minimum two years of relevant working experience within the financial services industry, insurance industry, or other numerical-data intensive role; asset management and life insurance experience is a plus
Superior technical skills in Microsoft Excel, particularly in organizing and analysing large data sets. I VBA programming and AI incorporation a plus.
Ability to develop relationships across the organization
Internally motivated and high attention to detail with a high level of responsiveness
Ability to prioritize and change direction on a project or request quickly
Interest in capital markets , familiarity with fixed income, investment accounting software (Clearwater), and/or asset liability management a plus
Required Education / Certifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Data Analytics Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, or quantitatively oriented related field; progress towards an advanced degree and/or professional designation a plus

Base salary/hourly rate range for this position in Connecticut is between $100,000 and $ 120,000 Please note that specific compensation decisions are based upon a variety of job-related factors as permitted by law, including geographic location, credentials, skills, education, training, and experience.
Base salary is just one component of Wilton Re’s total compensation package for employees. Additional compensation includes annual performance-based bonus, 401K with employer contribution, and profit-sharing program. Employee may also be eligible for long-term incentives. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
