Position Summary

Maintenance Supervisors will oversee and direct maintenance mechanics in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing plant manufacturing equipment including electrical, precision mechanical, and fluid power systems on metalworking equipment such as shears, press brakes, CNC machine tools and lasers, and conventional machine tools. This position is an integral part of the plant production team and reports to the Plant Manager.

Essential Functions

1. Responsible for equipment, building and grounds maintenance.
2. Maintains and improves preventative maintenance program.
3. Schedules maintenance operations to limit downtime and improve efficiency.
4. Responsible for building jigs and fixtures in house as determined.
5. Comprehend Lean principles and participate in Lean activities.
6. Responsible for documenting inspections of company equipment as required.
7. Works with outside vendors for parts and repairs to plant equipment.
8. Controls the energy management system.
9.  Install, diagnose, repair, and maintain mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment & systems.
10.  Skilled or knowledgeable in welding, pipe fitting, soldering, rigging application and use of mechanical tools, hand tools, and power tools.
11. Experience or knowledge in programmable logic controllers (PLC).
12. Comply with Company and OSHA Safety and Health rules to provide a safe working environment.
13. Support Company Safety and Health program.
14. Perform other duties as assigned or needed.

Skills & Requirements

Age:                                 Eighteen years of age minimum.               

Education:                    Requires a high school diploma/GED; an AA or bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance is a plus

Preferred Experience:  Four plus years of manufacturing experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with some PLC experience and HVAC Vacuum furnace experience is preferred.

Computer Skills:            Competent, able to employ computer software capably, ie…Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint. 

Certifications:                N/A

Communication:            Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate clearly and concisely using the English language.    

Other Requirements:    Able to wear hardhat, eye, and ear protection & safety toe boots.
