We're seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Property Inspector to join our team and help oversee the condition of our tenant-occupied properties.
Position Summary
The Property Inspector is responsible for conducting routine and as-needed inspections of residential rental properties currently occupied by tenants. The inspector documents the condition of both the interior and exterior of the home, identifies maintenance or safety issues, and ensures tenant compliance with lease terms.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct scheduled property inspections of tenant-occupied homes
- Assess overall condition of interior and exterior (roof, siding, windows, yard, HVAC, plumbing, appliances, flooring, etc.)
- Document and photograph property conditions thoroughly using inspection software or apps
- Identify and report maintenance issues, safety hazards, lease violations, and signs of neglect or damage
- Communicate inspection findings clearly to property managers and maintenance teams
- Follow up on prior inspection reports and confirm completion of repairs
- Ensure tenant access is scheduled respectfully and in accordance with notice requirements
- Maintain detailed records and reports for compliance and documentation
Qualifications
- Experience in property inspection, residential maintenance, real estate, or related field
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify signs of wear, damage, or code violations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Tech-savvy; comfortable using mobile apps and reporting software for inspections
- Professional demeanor when interacting with tenants
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Preferred
- Knowledge of residential building systems and maintenance practices
- Familiarity with property management operations
- Bilingual or multilingual skills a plus
