Position Reports to: Quality Management Director
Job Summary: The RN Quality Management Specialist will be accountable for assisting in meeting the goals of improving quality outcomes, promoting a high-reliability patient safety program, reducing operational risk, and meeting all regulatory requirements in conjunction with the goals of the said Department and Wilson Health’s overall Strategic Plan. The RN Quality Management Specialist will be required to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage projects across the organization to develop and implement new and/or improve processes, and monitor performance measures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsibilities include planning, coordination, education, and ongoing evaluation of the stroke patient care continuum
- Accountable for clinical compliance per the accredited guidelines for Stroke Ready certification and
- Accountable for data abstraction and entry to include Get with the Guidelines and creates and implements appropriate action plans based on
- Serves as outreach liaison for stroke within the community by serving as a liaison at the local events
- Serves as a clinical resource for physicians and nurses participating in the care of stroke patients by providing stroke
- Assures development and routine review and revision of stroke policies and procedures and order set revisions
- Actively participates and evaluates efficiency of Code Strokes
- Actively leads and participates in organizational committees relevant to the Stroke program
- Nursing Degree – minimal BSN with at least 5 years direct care-nursing experience in acute care experience a plus.
- Background in Quality Management in a healthcare setting preferred
- Preferred experience in stroke care or neurological care
- Ability to review and analyze data, utilize EXCEL, Word, Outlook and additional web based databases. Understanding of LEAN methodology preferred.
