What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bookkeeper for Special Education Department position at Wilson County School District?
Qualified applicant should have a minimum of high school or general equivalency diploma (GED). A post-secondary degree in finance is preferred.
Must have taken accounting coursework (preferably college-level), possess a solid understanding of generally accepted accounting procedures, and have at least (3) years of experience in the field of accounting.
Must be able to manage multiple projects at one time, possess working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office products, have the skillset to compile and analyze data from various sources, have excellent written and verbal communications skills, and a high attention to detail.
The goal of this assignment is to be responsible for bookkeeping, state and federal monitoring, maintaining department organizational position control for all faculty and staff, and clerical duties of the Special Education Department in accordance with federal, state, and local guidelines.
This is a full-time, 12-month assignment with insurance, retirement, and paid time off benefits. Salary will be determined by approved, comparable work experience and placement on Grade 10.1 of the Hourly Classified salary schedule. The starting rate of pay will be no less than $22.07 per hour.
