What are the responsibilities and job description for the Centralized Scheduling Supervisor position at WILSON COUNTY MEMORIAL HOSPITAL DISTRICT?
Summary Under general supervision of the Business Office Director, Supervises and coordinates activities of Centralized Schedulers engaged in setting appointments and handling insurance verifications. Contributes to the processing of various tasks required to achieve department goals and objectives. Adheres to all policies and procedures documented in the Connally Memorial Medical Center policy and procedure manual.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
- Performs the work of subordinate personnel as needed.
- Offers guidance to employees related to Scheduling, Insurance verification, and point of Service collection activity.
- Monitors fax request forms and wait list to ensure timely processing of request from referring physicians to schedule patient appointments.
- Monitors ECW Connally Scheduling POD to ensure timely processing of request from referring physicians to schedule patient appointments. Ensure notes are placed in ECW to communicate well with Connally physicians offices.
- Responsible for monitoring calls coming into the office making sure all calls are answered timely and voicemails are returned by no later than the next work day.
- Monitors service calls to observe employee's demeanor, technical accuracy, and conformity to company policies.
- Inform Business Office Director of any unusual and significant issues that may affect scheduling, patient satisfaction, and or delays in the department.
- Recommends corrective services to adjust customer complaints.
- Issues written and oral instructions.
- Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
- Maintains cooperative working relationship with all departments.
- Promotes a high degree of morale and spirit of motivation within the office. This includes the degree of cooperation, communication and coordination between this function and other employees.

Education and/or Experience
Associates Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
