What are the responsibilities and job description for the EMS Logistics Technician position at Wilson County Government?
GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB
Helps manage and maintain items used to equip ambulances for response. Helps ensure patient-care equipment is available and in good condition. Works closely with EMS supervisors to manage supplies and equipment, while adhering to infection control guidelines and prepares and maintains related files and records, both manual and computerized, related to inventory management. Does related work as required. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the assigned supervisor.
Assists with physical inventory data entry and comparison verification.
Restocks incoming supplies in the supply rooms.
Maintains working knowledge of inventory par level analysis.
Ensures all equipment and medications are within expiration and purges expired supplies.
Pulls and delivers supply requisitions to support daily operations.
Cleans and decontaminates ambulances per infection control guidelines.
Performs clerical tracking including stat issues/transfers, verifying stock discrepancies, filing, and other duties as assigned.
Ability to safely operate equipment and vehicles such as moving trailers and operating ambulances. Good eye-hand coordination and sufficient manual dexterity to manipulate equipment and instrumentation.
Ability to navigate various computer software applications and databases.
Ability to work independently in carrying out oral and written instructions. Ability to plan work assignments to assure exemplary customer service and mutually beneficial results and the ability to make logical adjustments in methods or procedures.
Assists in the coordination and preparation of periodic, special and other reports; collects information from a variety of sources and compiles data.
Performs other related work as required.MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED and experience in EMS logistics, supply and inventory tracking and management.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Valid driver's license in the State of North Carolina, Class B preferred.
Successfully complete EVD or County-approved driving course within 6 months of hire.
Must obtain North Carolina EMT credential within 12 months of hire.
