What are the responsibilities and job description for the Civil Project Manager - Estimator position at Wilson Contracting Services LLC?
Location: North Texas (DFW area) – McKinney Office
Division: Civil – Earthwork & Utilities
About the Role
We’re looking for a Civil Project Manager / Estimator who’s as comfortable running numbers in the office as they are walking a site. Our work centers on earthwork, utilities, and site paving, so we need someone who understands the dirt, knows how to keep jobs moving, and can build accurate estimates that win work.
If you’re efficient with technology, detail-oriented, and can keep crews, clients, and schedules on track, we’d like to talk.
What You’ll Do
- Put together takeoffs in AgTek and estimates in HCSS Heavy Bid.
- Review plans and specs and catch details before they turn into surprises.
- Build bids that are accurate, competitive, and cover the full scope.
- Work with superintendents, vendors, and subs to keep projects on schedule and on budget.
- Handle change orders, RFIs, and day-to-day project documentation.
- Be the point of contact for the client — making sure communication is clear and issues get resolved quickly.
- Track project costs and schedules to make sure the job finishes strong.
What We’re Looking For
- Solid background in earthwork and utilities (3 years preferred).
- Experience with AgTek and HCSS Heavy Bid (or ability to pick them up quickly).
- Tech-savvy and organized — you’ll be working with project software daily.
- Strong communicator who can coordinate with field crews and clients.
- Problem solver who can keep things moving when challenges come up.
- Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or similar is a plus, but real-world experience matters most.
Why Work With Us
- Growing civil contractor in North Texas.
- Team environment where you’re trusted to manage your work.
- Competitive pay and room to grow with the company.
- A mix of office and field — you’ll stay close to the work.
