Wilson College is seeking a motivated and dedicated Admissions Counselor to join our admissions team. This position plays a vital role in achieving new student enrollment goals by building strong relationships with prospective students, their families, and high school counselors. The Admissions Counselor is responsible for generating prospective student inquiries, guiding students through the admissions process, providing general financial aid and scholarship information, and participating in recruiting and onboarding events.

This role requires seasonal travel, including multi-day trips during the fall and spring recruitment seasons. A successful candidate will thrive in a collaborative team environment while also being self-motivated and goal-oriented.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Manage recruitment efforts within an assigned geographic territory to meet enrollment goals.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with high school counselors, prospective students, and their families.
  • Represent Wilson College at college fairs, high school visits, and other recruitment events.
  • Conduct admissions presentations and provide campus tours to prospective students and families.
  • Guide students through the admissions process, including application completion and submission of required documents.
  • Communicate general financial aid and scholarship information to prospective students.
  • Participate in on-campus and virtual recruitment and onboarding events.
  • Utilize Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems to track interactions with prospective students.
  • Collaborate with the admissions team to develop and implement recruitment strategies.
  • Travel within the assigned territory, including multi-day trips, to meet recruitment goals.

  • Communication: Ability to clearly explain the admissions process and engage effectively with students, families, and school counselors.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong ability to build relationships and provide excellent customer service.
  • Organization & Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and prioritize work efficiently.
  • Technology Proficiency: Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
  • Collaboration: Works effectively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
  • Knowledge of College Admissions: Understanding of the college admissions process, including application procedures and financial aid basics.

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

  • Full-time, 12-month position.
  • Variable hours dependent on needs of department.
  • Some work during evenings and weekends may be required for admissions events.

TRAVEL:

  • Ability to travel frequently, including multi-day trips during the fall and spring recruitment seasons.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in college admissions, student recruitment, or working with young adults.

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

ADDITIONAL ELGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A valid driver’s license is required.
