Position Summary
The Intern develops a broad understanding of data management principles while performing duties designed to support the company’s objectives. This position assists with implementation of data governance software. The Intern collaborates with data stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document data governance requirements. This position supports data governance projects and learns fundamental data management terms and processes while supporting the team with daily initiatives. This position reports to the Data Governance & Literacy Specialist and provides excellent service and support to team members and customers while demonstrating the Company’s values and supporting the mission.

Position Duties And Responsibilities
- Assist with the implementation of data governance software
- Collaborate with business units and data stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document data governance requirements
- Promote data literacy and data governance best practices through training materials, communications, and user support
- Partner with data stewards to collect and draft Critical Data Element (CDE) metadata, definitions, and ownership details, and assist with validating this information within the governance tool
- Support team members on small-scale data governance projects through research, analysis, and documentation
- Participate in meetings by taking notes, preparing materials, and gathering information from business units to support ongoing governance activities
- Attend training as requested
- Adhere to compliance with all federal bank regulations and laws, including those for consumer protection and the Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering Program
- Participate in outside community activities as required
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Currently enrolled in a college/university degree program
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and other standard software applications
- Basic organization and time management skills
- Ability to develop and maintain working knowledge of Bank products, services, policies, procedures, and systems
- Maintain a professional demeanor at all times
