Basic function:
The Strength & Conditioning / Facilities Intern supports the daily operations of athletic performance facilities and assists in the implementation of comprehensive strength and conditioning programs for varsity teams. This role provides hands-on experience in athlete development, facility management, and program administration while promoting a safe, structured, and high-performance training environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Strength & Conditioning Programming & Athlete Development
- Assist the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach in implementing and supervising programs for all varsity athletic teams
- Instruct and coach student-athletes in proper technique, including:
- Collaborate with coaches to support sport-specific performance goals
Facility Operations & Management
- Supervise CSS/QRC/HC Varsity Weight Room and Indoor Turf areas
- Coordinate facility usage with the Director of the Quaker Fit Program
- Oversee daily weight room operations and athlete supervision, including assuming responsibility in the absence of the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach
Administrative duties
- Assist in hiring, training, and supervising student workers
- Support a professional, accountable, and development-focused work environment
- Communicate effectively with athletic department staff regarding scheduling, training operations, and athlete participation
- Coordinate with coaches to align training schedules and facility usage

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (or currently pursuing) in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Management, or related field
- Minimum of two years of experience in strength & conditioning or personal training
- Strength & conditioning certification (completed or in progress)
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification
