Position Summary
Hours: Primary hours are evenings and weekends when classes take place, with additional hours as needed.
The facilitator conducts intakes with alleged abusers entering the program to determine appropriate group placement.
The facilitator reviews program standards with each participant and clearly explains responsibilities required for successful completion.
The facilitator provides instruction to participants when individual guidance is needed, oversees payment collection for groups, monitors
group locations and provides community education regarding the Abuse Intervention Program.
Responsibilities and Duties
Direct Client Services
- Perform face-to-face contact with clients.
- Complete client intakes and enter necessary data into the Osnium database when requested.
- Follow safety and confidentiality procedures when working with clients and staff.
- Comply with the Drug Free Workplace policy.
- Attend one-on-one supervision meetings when required.
DVIP Facilitator Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with Domestic Violence Offender Program Standards based on the model used by the coordinator.
- Ensure compliance with standards set by the Nebraska Domestic Violence Sexual Assault Coalition.
- Conduct offender group intakes when necessary.
- Follow all safety and confidentiality procedures.
- Attend trainings and conferences as requested by the Executive Director or DVIP Coordinator.
- Complete continuing education requirements and Duluth Training within the first six months.
- Model equal and respectful relationships in professional and personal life.
- Remain violence free at all times.
- Engage in behavior that promotes the equal status of women.
- Participate in ongoing education and self-reflection related to violence against women and intimate partner violence.
- Demonstrate behaviors consistent with batterer intervention programs.
- Maintain open communication and resolve conflicts with partner agencies and justice system professionals.
- Complete all documentation and paperwork in a timely manner.
Minimum Qualifications
- United States citizen, national, or legal permanent resident.
- Ability to demonstrate initiative and work independently.
- Must possess good moral character and pass a background check.
- Preferred: Associate’s degree in human services, Criminal Justice, or equivalent experience.
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license and access to an insured motor vehicle.
- Preferred but not required: Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Must complete 10 continuing education hours per year.

- Understanding and sensitivity to the needs of domestic violence and sexual assault victims.
- Ability to work with families and collaborate with community professionals.
- Ability to work with diverse ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic populations.
- Strong oral communication skills with clients, justice professionals, and coworkers.
- Ability to always maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and solve problems effectively.
- Ability to work irregular hours including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must maintain valid Nebraska driver’s license, proof of insurance, and dependable transportation.
- Knowledge of organizational mission, policies, and procedures.
Physical Requirements
Ability to read and complete reports, drive a vehicle, and monitor client situations.
- Ability to communicate verbally with clients and staff both in person and by phone.
- Ability to bend and lift up to 50 pounds.
Independent Contractor Status
This position is contracted as a 1099 Independent Contractor. The contractor is not an employee of the organization and is responsible for all applicable federal, state, and local taxes. Nothing in this agreement shall be interpreted as creating an employer–employee relationship.
Pay: $35.00 - $50.00 per day
