What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technician position at Willmer Engineering?
Willmer Engineering is growing! We’re looking for a motivated Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technician to join our Atlanta team. Whether you’re an experienced technician or just starting your career, this is a great opportunity — certifications are preferred, but we’re willing to train the right person.
What You’ll Do
- Test soils, concrete, asphalt, masonry, and other construction materials on active job sites.
- Operate field equipment such as nuclear density gauges, compression machines, and coring devices.
- Record results using mobile tools and communicate findings with contractors, clients, and engineers.
- Support special inspections and site assessments.
What You Bring
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and work outdoors in varied conditions.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn.
- Certifications (NICET Level I/II, ACI Level I Concrete, Nuclear Density Gauge) are preferred — but we’ll provide paid training and certification support for the right candidate.
- DOT project experience a plus.
