Position: Assistant Registrar
Location: Williston, ND

Type of appointment: Full time, 12-month, exempt, benefitted position
Background Check: WSC does require a successful background check for the selected candidate prior to beginning employment.
Reports to: Registrar/Research Analyst
Summary
The Assistant Registrar is responsible for assisting with the administrative and operational functions of the Academic Records department. The Assistant Registrar will support the Registrar with the key functions of; scheduling, degree evaluation, transcript evaluation, and more. This position plays a crucial role to ensure the integrity, accuracy, and security of all academic records of current and former students.
Responsibilities
Transcript Processing
- Provide information and assist students with all phases of the student records system.
- Evaluate incoming college transcripts
- Accurately post transfer credits in the SIS
- Process incoming and outgoing transcript request
- Communicate with students and advisors regarding transcript evaluations
- Provide information to students about graduation requirements.
Monitor the academic process of students enrolled in degree programs.
Maintain Student Academic Records
- Assist with processing registration action forms (add/drops).
- Accurately input data into the SIS and maintain documentation for audit purposes
- Support the Registrar in development and implementation of procedures to improve efficiencies
Degree Awarding
- Generate list of eligible graduates for commencement
- Review and approve graduation applications
- Complete Degree audits to verify completion of general education, institutional, and program requirements.
- Maintain documentation for institutional and NDUS reporting.
- Assist with the coordination of Williston State College commencement ceremony.
Academic Catalog Maintenance & VA Education
- Collaborate with Registrar on updating academic programs and courses information
- Maintain and update program SEP's
- Review enrollment for students utilizing VA education benefits
- Collaborate with Student Affairs office to ensure coordination of services for VA students
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Customer service oriented.
Ability to work as part of a team dedicated to collaboration and the college goal of integrating instruction and student services to create and maintain supportive student learning environment.
- Strong communication skills with a diverse population.
Computer experience in word processing, spreadsheet, and data applications.
Maintain confidentiality.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Associate degree
- Customer service experience
PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree
- Related administrative or management experience in student services
- Higher Education experience

Benefits
COMPENSATION: $45,000-$51,000 based on directly related experience. Paid health insurance, life insurance, retirement, employee tuition waiver, spouse/dependent tuition discount.
