Primary Function:
Under the direction and supervision of the Executive Vice President of Fixed Operations, this position is responsible for managing the daily operations and work flow for the department. Exercises initiative and independent judgment in the performance and required projects, duties and tasks. Performs all duties within the objectives, standards, and policies of Willis Automotive.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leads the department in ensuring guest satisfaction is met or exceeded as measured by independent surveys.
- Plan and schedule daily production plan utilizing all available resources for inter-departmental work.
- Directs forecasting goals and objectives for the department and directs work and processes to meet them. Communicates in advance of any issues/opportunities outside of the budget.
- Develops subordinates by identifying training needs and providing guidance; implements a course of action to enhance performance. Develops and implements a cross-training program within the team to enhance performance.
- Assists in the selection and performance management processes of staff; trains, motivates, counsels, and monitors the performance of all department staff.
- Directs quality control expectations for detail department and ensures compliance within the team.
- Communicates any potential problems with vehicles to sales personnel or managers.
- Communicates work accomplishments and department objectives to director and staff on an ongoing basis; promotes a team oriented working environment.
What we need from you:
- Two plus years related work experience required
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain insurability required
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
- Excellent customer service skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong attention to details and follow through on projects
- Ability to work comfortably with the public and internal staff
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to sell the services of the company
- Must have the ability to work well in a team-based environment
- Ability to work evenings and Saturdays as required
