Duties
- Prepare and serve deli items including meats, cheeses, and prepared foods while adhering to food safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the deli area, ensuring compliance with health regulations.
- Operate cash registers and handle cash transactions accurately, providing excellent customer service during each interaction.
- Assist customers with their selections, providing recommendations and answering questions about products.
- Perform basic food handling tasks including slicing, weighing, and packaging deli items.
- Ensure that all products are properly labeled and displayed attractively to enhance customer appeal.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain inventory levels and assist in restocking as needed.
- Follow retail math principles for pricing and portioning products accurately.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a grocery store or restaurant setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of food handling practices and culinary techniques is a plus.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and inventory management are essential.
