Customer Service Representative
Location: 2817 N Sherman Ave, Madison, WI
Status: Hourly non-exempt, represented, 8 hours per week, Thursdays 7:15am-3:15pm, part time
Supervision: No direct supervisory responsibility

About the Role: As a Customer Service Representative, you will have the opportunity to provide the highest level of service possible to Willy Street Co-op's internal and external customers.

What You'll Do: You will lead the efforts in welcoming and greeting customers as they enter the store. You will have primary responsibility for answering phones and directing calls appropriately. In addition, you'll collaborate with other members to support the following areas:

Set the standard for excellent customer service

Maintain the customer service desk, keeping it clean, orderly, and appropriately stocked

Keep informed about community room activities, events, classes and store special events

Process returns/exchanges, pre-orders, ticket sales, gift cards, and class registrations

Serve as backup support for the Front End: cashier, bag and/or carry out groceries, cover breaks for cashiers or supervisors

Answer customer questions regarding ownership and assist owners in understanding and completing the Fair Share contract

Know product locations in order to assist customers in finding what they need

Assist with the management of electronic and paper owner records in a timely and organized manner

Treat people fairly, consistently and with respect

Abide by all co-op policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook and other company documents

Participate in required training and meetings

Keep the store orderly and clean

Perform all other duties as assigned by a Supervisor

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds at times
Work Environment: Fast paced retail environment with food service equipment and coolers and in cold/hot working conditions (i.e. cooler or near heated surfaces). Other high to moderate noise including but not limited to computers, cash registers, paging, telephones, music and human voices.
