Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing daily clinical operations and nursing services
- Supervise, train, and support nursing staff with a hands-on leadership style
- Ensure regulatory compliance and accurate documentation
- Participate in care planning, quality improvement, and risk management programs
- Help drive staff engagement, retention, and performance
- Step in for DON when needed to ensure seamless leadership continuity
- Support and enforce the facility’s infection prevention and control program
- Monitor, track, and report infections in accordance with CDC and CMS guidelines
- Ensure compliance with infection control policies, procedures, and best practices
- Conduct infection control audits and participate in QAPI initiatives
- Educate and train staff on infection prevention protocols (hand hygiene, PPE, isolation precautions)
- Collaborate with leadership to implement corrective actions and reduce infection risks
- Active RN license in Virginia – Required
- 2 years of nursing leadership in long-term care/SNF
- Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations
- Experience or familiarity with infection prevention and control practices preferred
- Ability to lead with compassion, confidence, and clear communication
- Organizational skills to juggle priorities and stay ahead of issues
