What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Warehouse Manager position at Williamsburg General Store?
Williamsburg Merchants, Inc. is seeking a dependable, motivated Assistant Warehouse Manager to join our team. This is a hands-on position that combines daily warehouse work with the opportunity to learn and take on additional management responsibilities.
Responsibilities include receiving and organizing merchandise, transferring merchandise to our retail stores, unloading shipments, tagging merchandise, making local deliveries to stores occasionally, maintaining an organized warehouse, and working closely with the Warehouse Manager to keep daily operations running smoothly. The Assistant Warehouse Manager will also learn our receiving, inventory and warehouse procedures and help oversee operations when needed.
Applicants must have a valid driver's license, be comfortable driving a company delivery vehicle, and be able to regularly lift and move merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs. We are looking for someone who is dependable, organized, willing to learn, comfortable using a computer, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
This is a full-time, Monday–Friday position, typically 8:00 AM–4:30 PM. We are a locally owned family business and are looking for someone interested in becoming an important long-term member of our warehouse team.
Williamsburg Merchants operates several retail stores in the Williamsburg area, including The Williamsburg General Store, Wallace's Trading Post, R.P. Wallace & Sons General Store, The Christmas Shop, The Campus Shop and Simply Williamsburg.
