Optometric Technician

Williamsburg Eye Care is offering a full-time position in our clinic department with entry level pay beginning at $17/hr plus performance pay and benefits. As an optometric technician you will work directly with our optometrists in a clinical setting, playing an essential role in providing patient care and collaborating with our team to complete treatment plans. This is a 4-5 day/week full-time position scheduled from 8:30am-5:00pm. Visit us at WilliamsburgEye.com.

About the position

• Work directly with patients to accurately document the reason for visit, history relating to the visit, and review medications and systems
• Through company training learn to use all equipment to perform a range of visual assessments for patients prior to and during their visit
• Collect data to support our optometrists in developing and completing a treatment plan
• Maintain a smooth flow of patients
• Conduct contact lens training and other ancillary testing
• Collaborate with doctor(s) and team members to provide seamless patient experiences and completion of treatment plans relating to eye diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, diabetic eye care, and refractive errors such as myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism and presbyopia

Requirements

• High School Diploma with the ability to understand basic math
• Proper grammar, spelling, and typing skills are a must
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Ability to converse with a wide range of people in a personable and caring manner
• Be a collaborative team player
• Prior healthcare/medical/optical background preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
