Position Summary
Very busy GM, Honda Kia service departments. The Master Automotive Service Technician is responsible for performing advanced diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs with efficiency and precision. This position plays a critical role in delivering outstanding service experiences while supporting the development of fellow technicians and maintaining manufacturer standards. The Used Car Mechanic and Pre-Delivery inspection person is someone who can work on cars but doesn't necessarily have certifications yet.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic, repair, and maintenance services on a wide range of vehicles in accordance with manufacturer and dealership standards.
- Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, drivability, and performance-related concerns.
- Accurately document repairs, recommendations, and completed work on repair orders.
- Communicate effectively with service advisors regarding repair status, additional service recommendations, and completion timelines.
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections to identify safety concerns and maintenance needs.
- Collaborate with the parts department to ensure timely procurement of necessary components.
- Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training and certification programs to remain current on evolving vehicle technologies.
- Mentor and assist apprentice and developing technicians as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Properly care for dealership tools, equipment, and service information resources.
- Follow all federal, state, local, and OSHA safety regulations and dealership policies.
- Perform road tests when necessary to verify repairs and diagnose vehicle concerns.
Qualifications
- Master Technician certification and/or ASE Master Technician certification preferred.
- Previous General Motors, Chevrolet, Honda, or dealership service experience highly desirable.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities across mechanical, electrical, and computerized vehicle systems.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Proficiency with modern diagnostic equipment, repair software, and digital service tools.
- Commitment to delivering quality workmanship and exceptional customer satisfaction.

Physical Requirements
