The Dealer Trade Driver is responsible for transporting vehicles and/or necessary paperwork between dealership locations, auctions, or other designated sites. This is a per diem, on-call position that provides flexibility for both the dealership and the driver.
Essential Duties
- Transport vehicles safely and efficiently between dealership locations, auctions, or customer sites as assigned.
- Perform thorough vehicle inspections prior to and after each trip, documenting any existing or new damage.
- Deliver and pick up necessary paperwork, license plates, and other items as needed.
- Maintain accurate trip logs and related documentation as required.
- Communicate effectively with dealership staff to coordinate schedules and meet deadlines.
- Follow all traffic laws, dealership policies, and safety guidelines at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to drive both automatic and manual transmission vehicles preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to vehicle safety.
- Excellent communication skills and punctuality.
- Ability to work a flexible, on-call schedule with short notice.
- Familiarity with basic vehicle inspection processes is a plus.
Physical Demands
- Ability to sit and drive for extended periods.
- Ability to safely enter and exit various types of vehicles.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds occasionally.
