We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Emergency Medicine Physician to provide urgent and comprehensive care in a fast-paced clinical environment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in emergency medicine, demonstrating proficiency in patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment across a broad spectrum of acute conditions. The Emergency Medicine Physician will be responsible for managing complex cases efficiently while maintaining high standards of clinical excellence and professionalism.

Duties

  • Perform thorough patient evaluations, including physical examinations, medical history assessments, and diagnostic testing to determine urgent health issues.
  • Provide immediate treatment for acute illnesses and injuries, utilizing advanced skills in airway management, trauma care, and pain control.
  • Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems effectively to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently.
  • Interpret medical imaging such as CT scans, X-rays, and ultrasounds to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals across specialties including cardiology, neurology, pediatrics, obstetrics/gynecology (Ob/Gyn), radiology, surgery, and others to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
  • Manage emergency procedures such as suturing, intubation, IV infusion, and advanced airway techniques while adhering to aseptic techniques.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and hospital protocols to protect patient privacy and safety.
  • Participate in clinical research or quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing emergency care practices.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and follow-up care plans.

Experience

  • Post-residency experience in emergency medicine within a Level I or Level II trauma center is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or similar platforms for documentation and order entry.
  • Extensive inpatient experience managing acute care cases across diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, and critically ill patients.
  • Hands-on experience with diagnostic radiology interpretation, medical imaging modalities (CT scans, ultrasounds), and interventional radiology procedures is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to perform advanced airway management techniques and critical care interventions in high-pressure situations.
  • Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including nurses, specialists in anesthesiology, cardiology, pulmonology, orthopedics, psychiatry, pathology, infectious disease specialists, among others.
  • Knowledge of hospital protocols related to triage procedures, trauma management, post-operative care (PACU), hospice & palliative medicine considerations, and acute pain management strategies.
  • Familiarity with medical coding (CPT/ICD) for accurate documentation of procedures performed during emergency visits.
  • Prior involvement in clinical research or quality improvement projects focusing on emergency medicine practices is desirable but not mandatory.
