Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Civil Engineer & CAD Designer role based in Allentown, PA. The role involves preparing civil site plans and construction documents, including grading, utility layouts, stormwater management systems, and erosion and sediment control designs. The Civil Engineer & CAD Designer will develop and refine CAD drawings, coordinate with project managers, and support permitting and approvals with local agencies. Daily responsibilities include collaborating with survey and planning staff, performing engineering calculations, reviewing design standards, and updating plans in response to client and regulatory feedback. The position also requires maintaining accurate project files, meeting deadlines, and contributing to efficient, buildable design solutions.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Civil Engineering Design and Civil Engineering, with experience in site development and infrastructure projects.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team of Civil Engineers, collaborating with surveyors, planners, and project managers.
- Experience with Planning for land development projects, including site layout, zoning considerations, and coordination with stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Stormwater Management design, including drainage calculations, stormwater facilities, and compliance with local regulations.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) for preparing detailed engineering drawings and construction documents.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field; EIT or PE license is a plus.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to land development and environmental compliance.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.
- Ability to work on-site in Allentown, PA, and occasionally visit project locations as needed.
