OVERVIEW
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team of professionals to assist in providing innovative solutions for low and medium voltage distribution systems, emergency distribution, power generation, electrical controls, and telecommunication systems. We are looking for an Electrical BIM/CAD Operator / Designer with hands on design experience. The successful candidate will be fully versed in BIM/Revit modeling as well as AutoCAD 2D and 3D. The Electrical BIM/CAD designer will have proven experience and knowledge of electrical systems and will be responsible for creating and coordinating complex electrical models. These models will be linked with other disciplines in a single environment to produce construction documents that will allow for full coordination prior to construction commencing. Modification of existing documents to produce “As-Built” documents that are an exact representation of the field installation will be required.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
- Preparing and developing detailed Revit models of electrical systems.
- Prepare AutoCAD drawings when required.
- Prepare sketches or drawings showing location of conduits, wiring and various equipment within designated job specifications. Identifying various systems such as Fire Alarm, Telecommunications, Security, Nurse Call, Access Control and placing them into the construction set models.
- Updating and modifying existing models and drawing sets.
- Work in a collaborative manner with other trades to produce comprehensive construction documents. Be willing to work as a contributor of a MEP design team as well as work independently.
- Provide coordination support to our field personnel regarding information requests during construction phases.
- Import product submittal data into BIM/Revit models.
- Have practical problem-solving skills to applied in various situations.
- Ability to read and understand electrical blueprints and drawings.
- Understand and follow detailed instructions and guidelines furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Associate degree preferred.
- 2 years’ experience as a commercial construction operator / designer, preferably in the electrical field.
- Possess strong PC and IT skills with various software packages including Excel, Word, etc.
- Work in a challenging environment.
- Ability to exercise independent judgement and discretion.
- Ability to make visits to job sites when required.

Salary : $65,000 - $80,000
