Wiley Roots Brewing Company, a twelve year old, multiple GABF medal winning craft brewery located in Greeley, Colorado, is seeking talented, energetic individuals to work in the Wiley Roots Tap Room. The 90 seat tap room is open six days per week (Tuesday through Sunday).
The Tap Room Beertender manages the customer experience, and strives to build strong relationships with customers through positive brand interactions. Wiley Roots Brewing Company is a small team of passionate craft beer lovers and brand ambassadors who value authentic relationships and communication, and interacting with and serving the craft beer enthusiast. Position Duties:
- Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to customers
- Maintain a welcoming, educational, safe, exciting and inviting tap room environment
- Manage taproom customer satisfaction and overall brewery visitor experience through building relationships
- Exceed customer expectations and create strong impressions that reinforce the brand position and strategy of Wiley Roots Brewing Company
- Assist in monitoring beer inventory (kegs and packaged product)
- Assist in analyzing trends (visitors, events, beer, and merchandise)
- Perform various open and closing duties
- Execute events in the taproom
- Work with the taproom leads, General Manager and Founders to properly market the tap room
- Perform various cleaning and organizational tasks
- Monitor cold room equipment
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and regulate the pouring of the beers on tap to help minimize beer waste.
- Properly check for identification and follow laws regulating the sale and consumption of alcohol
Minimum Qualifications:
- 1 year minimum of bartending experience and/or brewery/winery taproom experience
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Familiarity in using the web, spreadsheets, point of sale system, and web applications
- Ability to transport kegs with a dolly
- Ability to change out kegs and monitor beer supply
- A desire to learn and adapt
- Must be team oriented
- Customer service and hospitality skills
- Must be able to work days, weekends, evenings, holidays, and events
- Knowledge of, and passion for, craft beer and the brewing industry
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must be willing and able to be around alcohol responsibly
- Understanding of Wiley Root's culture and tasty beers
- Organizational skills and the ability to work independently
- Must have a familiarity with the brewing process
Physical Requirements:
Physical working conditions are required with this position. Working around vessels and pipes under pressure containing air, CO2, water, beer and hazardous chemicals is commonplace. The work areas are mechanical in nature, and require a significant amount of walking and working on wet slippery surfaces. The taproom assistant is required to stand for long periods of time, lift and carry 30 lbs frequently, and transport heavy objects with a dolly.
Conditions of Employment:
Must obtain TIPS Certification within the training period.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced knowledge and experience using Square POS System
Experience utilizing Google sheets and Google docs to create documents and spreadsheets
TIPS Certification
Cicerone: Certified Beer Server
Strong knowledge of the craft brewing industry
Strong knowledge of the organization, its history and its product offerings
Hours:
This position will work 5-20 hours per week. Pay Range: $12.14 per hour shared tip pool.
