Compliance Specialist

Salary Range: The range is $24.25-$32.00/hr depending on relevant experience

Requirements

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a regionally accredited two-year college or technical school;
  • 3 years experience with OPWDD, or auditing in a non-profit/healthcare setting
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

 

 

Computer Skills:

 

 

  • Experience with Google Workspace
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, Google Drive
  • Ability to navigate and train on database software.

Who we are looking for: 

A non-profit professional to be our Compliance Specialist and plan and conduct activities concerned with the Corporate Compliance of Wildwood Programs services and records

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Performs routine internal billing audits for Medicaid funded services.

  • Administers program and fiscal reviews as assigned by the Director, based on the established auditing schedule. Presents reported findings, develops Plan of Improvement at the completion of a review. 

  • Develops and uses audit tools to measure compliance with regulations.

  • Track external audits/surveys and Plans of Corrective Action.  

  • Under supervision of the Director, develops and conducts trainings, annually and for program specific needs.

  • Identifies deficits, errors and breakdowns during compliance activities and recommends improvements to program administration and the Director.

  •  Maintains a working knowledge of program and regulatory aspects, including documentation requirements of all services offered by Wildwood, OPWDD and NYSED.

Education/Experience:

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a regionally accredited two-year college or technical school; at least three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of stakeholders or employees of the organization.

 

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

 

 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing, Spreadsheet, Internet, and Database software.

Additional Requirements:

A valid NYS driver's license, daily access to a vehicle and driving record acceptable to the agency insurance carrier's standards are required.
