The General Manager, reports to the VP of Operations, is responsible for Linen Processing to include Product Quality, Distribution, Supply Chain, Engineering, Customer Service, and Employee Development. Meeting customer quality and delivery commitments are of paramount importance. Fostering a safe working environment, developing people and systems, team building, continuous improvement, process control, capacity planning and efficient linen operations are primary priorities.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Communicates and explains new directives, policies, or procedures to managers; for major changes, meets with entire operations staff to explain changes, answer questions, and maintain morale.
- Projects a professional and positive image of the organization to employees, customers, industry, and community.
- Recruiting, hiring, coaching, and developing staff.
- Job descriptions, goals and objectives, one-on-one and team communications, etc.
- Leads coordination and integration of efforts among operations, engineering, technology, and customer service divisions to produce smoother workflow and more cost-effective business processes.
· Critical to be able to establish and maintain strong customer relationships at all levels.
- Improves customer service and satisfaction through policy and procedural changes.
- Optimization of customer satisfaction through improved operational planning and execution.
- Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business procedures.
- Effective planning and layout of workflow including equipment for linen operations. Establishes quantitative and qualitative metrics, guidelines, and standards by which the company’s efficiency and effectiveness can be evaluated; identifies opportunities for improvement.
- Plans, directs, controls, implements, evaluates, monitors, and forecasts budgets and cost of sales to achieve financial objectives. 5% annual cost reductions is the planning guideline.
- Oversees linen processing quality, purchasing, and customer service, ensuring each is reaching goals set by facility and leadership.
- Implements policies and procedures in accordance with corporate policies that will improve day-to-day operations.
- Ensures work environments are safe at all times.
- Improvement of quality and costs by researching best practices and identifying new technology, skills, and processes.
- Support and enhance sales process and performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Business or related field
- 10 years of Operations experience, preferably in the linen rental business or Facility Services
- Proven experience in a Manager level position
- Exceptional understanding of practices, theories, and policies involved in business and finance
- Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Represent the company externally to media, government agencies, funding agencies, and the public in a professional and positive manner
Salary : $120,000 - $170,000
