What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host/Server position at Wild Wing Cafe?
HOST: To greet every guest arriving in our restaurant, as well as controlling and directing the flow of seating. Each guest should be sat in a timely manner at a clean table with clean menus, and any highchairs or children's menus if needed. The host is to communicate with the Floor Manager when dealing with a "wait list” and quoting a wait time.
SERVER: It is the server's job to guide the guest through the menu, making suggestions whenever possible. Servers are responsible for ringing in orders correctly, delivering the food and the check, making correct change, inputting credit card charges, and insuring the satisfaction of our guests. Servers are expected to pre-bus tables as they work and make sure that tea and Coke glasses are being refilled. At the end of their shift, servers are asked to reconcile their server report with their bank. Servers are expected to perform a number of sidework tasks, including cleaning, replenishing and some food prep. Some of these tasks are done weekly, others each shift. The work is assigned by station or day of the week.
