Position: Mermaid Swim Instructor pay range is $20-25 an hour for this role
**Wild Dunes Resort** is looking for an enthusiastic Swim Instructor to guide guests in a unique mermaid swimming experience. Instructors will teach kids aged 4 to 15 how to swim safely in mermaid tails while incorporating water skills, fitness, and storytelling.
Essential Job Functions:
- Conduct Lessons: Teach safe swimming techniques in mermaid tails, tailoring lessons to participants' ages and skill levels.
- Ensure Safety: Monitor participants, enforce safety protocols, and provide guidance for a secure and enjoyable experience.
- Engage Guests: Create a fun atmosphere through storytelling and themed activities.
- Demonstrate Techniques: Model proper swimming techniques and assist guests with their mermaid tails.
- Sales Responsibilities: Manage the sale of mermaid tails and recruit participants when necessary.
- Host Events: Participate in resort events like mermaid meet-and-greets and birthday parties.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure mermaid tails and gear are clean and stored correctly.
- Customer Service: Interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner.
**Qualifications:**
- Strong swimming skills, with lifeguard or swim instructor experience preferred.
- Comfortable in themed, entertainment-focused roles.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods.
- Excellent communication and guest engagement skills.
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
