Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Financial Aid Counselor located in Wilberforce, OH. The Financial Aid Counselor will assist students and their families in navigating the financial aid process, including providing information on available federal, state, and institutional aid programs. Responsibilities also include reviewing applications, determining eligibility, processing awards, and verifying information as required. Additionally, the counselor will conduct individual and group counseling sessions, maintain accurate records, ensure compliance with regulations, and respond to inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of financial aid programs, regulations, and compliance requirements
- Proficiency in counseling, communication, and providing guidance to diverse populations
- Experience in reviewing applications, verifying documents, and processing awards
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain confidentiality, and meet strict deadlines
- Technical skills, including proficiency with financial aid management systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Bachelor’s degree in education, finance, or a related field required; relevant certifications or experience in financial aid counseling preferred
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and customer service skills
- Willingness to remain updated on financial aid policies and attend training sessions when needed
