Position Summary

We are looking for someone who is energetic, resourceful, and excited to build great product. The ideal candidate is hardworking, curious, highly organized, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Location: New York, NY (Onsite)
Department: Design
Reports To: Design Director
Salary Range: $65,000–$75,000 (based on experience)

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing seasonal collections that align with brand vision, customer needs, and business objectives.
  • Research market trends, competitive landscape, runway, and social media to identify new product opportunities.
  • Create inspiration boards, color palettes, print direction, and seasonal concepts.
  • Develop detailed Illustrator sketches, technical flats, and presentation boards.
  • Prepare complete design packages for product development and overseas vendors.
  • Partner with Production and Technical Design throughout sample development and fitting process.
  • Review prototypes and communicate revisions to ensure design intent is maintained.
  • Attend fittings and assist with design comments and approvals.
  • Maintain accurate design files, seasonal line plans, and PLM documentation.
  • Assist in preparing presentations for internal meetings and customer reviews.
  • Manage multiple projects while meeting seasonal calendar deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field.
  • 3–5 years of apparel design experience, preferably in women's sportswear, knits, wovens, or contemporary fashion.
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, fabrication, and wash techniques.
  • Excellent trend awareness with a commercial design aesthetic.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator; Photoshop and InDesign are a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience communicating with overseas factories and vendors is preferred.
