The Center for Simulation in the Dwyer School of Nursing at Widener University invites applications for the position of Simulation Lab Assistant. This is an adjunct position and reports directly to the Director of the Center for Simulation. The Lab Assistant ensures that simulation labs, equipment, and material are organized, functional, and ready for instructional use.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to) :
Essential duties:
- Prepare simulation labs for scheduled learning activities.
- Monitor supply inventory and report needs for budget purposes.
- Order supplies for lab and simulation sessions.
- Establish and maintain relationships with vendors to ensure adequate supplies.
- Assist with tours.
- Participate in the set-up and break down of large scale, campus simulations including but not limited to Poverty, Disaster, and In Her Shoes.
Required:
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- High school diploma required, secondary education preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as a team.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft office).
- Basic knowledge of healthcare or clinical environments
- Experience in clinical, educational or laboratory setting.
- Familiar with simulation mannequins and healthcare equipment.
- Lab & simulation rotations may take place during the day, evening, or weekend.
- Must be able to maintain manual dexterity, gross and fine movements including but not limited to:
- Sufficiently, safely move from room to room, and move quickly.
- Sit/stand and maintain balance, walk, climb, bend, twist, stop and squat.
- Push, pull, lift, and support at least 25 lbs. in order to position, transfer, and ambulate patients/clients.
- Move light objects up to 10 lbs. and move heavy objects weighing from 10-50 lbs.
- Pick up objects with hands, grasp small objects and pinch/pick up with fingers and twist/turn with hands.
