What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adjunct, Economics and Finance position at Widener University?
Widener University's School of Business Administration (SBA) invites applications for adjunct teaching in Economics and Finance. Reporting to the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs, adjunct professors are responsible for teaching one or more sections of an Economics and/or Finance in-person seated classes during the day on our Chester, PA campus. Candidates should hold at a minimum a master’s degree in economics and/or finance. This position will remain open until filled. The successful candidates can expect potential teaching opportunities in this area to be offered in subsequent semesters.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to) :
Essential duties:
- Teaching one or more courses (depending on need) for the Fall 2026 semester beginning in August.
- Developing syllabi, assignments, and instructional materials for Intermediate Macroeconomic Theory, covering economic growth, labor markets, inflation, business cycles, monetary policy, and stabilization policy.
- Evaluating student work based on course learning goals and supporting assessment of student learning in the SBA.
- Availability to meet with students as needed outside of classroom hours.
Required:
- Master’s degree in economics and/or finance
- Professional and/or teaching experience in areas such as economics and/or financial management/investment field.
- Doctorate in economics and/or finance
- Familiarity with Canvas Learning Management Systems (LMS)
